2 June. 2025 - ocilion is developing its sixth generation of set-top boxes based on Google's Android TV operating system. The P600 product range starts with the compact IPTV Set Top Box P610 and the matching remote control R601. Thanks to the Android TV Operator Tier programme and the Custom Launcher, network operators receive their customised IPTV product under their own brand as usual, with individual UI design and numerous pre-installed premium apps. These include Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube and many other relevant streaming services and media libraries.
The P610 Set Top Box is equipped with the latest high-performance Amlogic 905X5M chip and large memory (4GB Ram, 32GB Flash), supports WiFi6, Bluetooth BT 5.2 and 4K as well as HDR including Dolby Vision®. The set-top box offers maximum performance with optimum energy efficiency, both in operation and in standby mode. The housing design is a continuation of the award-winning designs of the P400 and P500 series. The set top box and remote control are harmonised with each other and form a harmonious whole. The remote control was developed together with the Austrian premium manufacturer ruwido and offers an outstanding user experience including voice control.
Hand in hand with the new Set Top Box series, ocilion delivers the next generation user interface ‘UI6’. In addition to maximum user-friendliness, UI6 enables innovative content discovery, content promotion options and intelligent voice search, among other things. The modern user interface in the network operator's branding will be implemented for the P600 generation of terminals as well as for the existing terminal models (P400 and P500 series). ocilion is thus safeguarding the investments already made by network operators for many years to come and at the same time investing in the latest technology. UI6 supports all known ocilion operator API interfaces already implemented by network operators and CRM providers and thus forms the basis for integrated process automation at the provider.
With the P600 generation, network operators benefit from the usual ocilion branding service: Set Top Box, remote control and packaging can be designed to match the user interface in the provider's design. ocilion supports its customers in this process for an optimised brand experience and visibility in the end customer's living room.
