ocilion's IPTV platform and the product family of the P400 Set Top Box were awarded third place in the category "Small and medium-sized companies" at the renowned state prize for innovation. The competition honors the most innovative companies and research institutions in Upper Austria and was held for the 27th time.
The technology was developed entirely in Upper Austria by ocilion. Thanks to continuous improvements, innovative functions, and the right 4K end devices, the majority of Austrian network operators have opted for the ocilion solution within the last two years. These include: Liwest, Energie AG, Infotech, kabelplus, Energie Steiermark, Wien Energie and Salzburg AG. Of a total of over 60 customers, 20 network operators are from Austria alone. Their end users can enjoy the most modern television experience - including time-shift television, recording function, video library with the latest films, media libraries, apps, and much more.
Economics Minister Markus Achleitner on the jury's decision: "I am particularly enthusiastic about your innovation because it not only sets a technological milestone but also contributes to the attractiveness of fiber optics for end customers. With this, ocilion could rightly convince the jury.”

About the State Prize for Innovation
The innovation prize is awarded in the three categories "Small and medium-sized companies", "Large companies" and "Research institutions". For the 27th time, the competition is an indicator of how innovative Upper Austria and its companies are. From all submissions that qualify for the State Prize for Innovation Upper Austria, up to three companies will be selected to participate in the State Prize for Innovation and one company each for the Austria-wide special prizes VERENA and ECONOVIUS. Many awards as part of these prizes make the high level of innovation in our state visible.
